Lily and her hair, field trips and soccer games

This girl has got some hair. It's unruly, hard to manage, and straight as a board. And of course she refuses to let me do anything with it. We did a brieft stint with bows, and even briefer one with pigtails. These days I'm doing good to get a brush through it. For all her girlie qualities, she's not one to primp.

So, as much as I hate to do it... Lily is getting a haircut! We have an appointment Friday morning at a place called Angel Hair. They cater to the very young, and we have gotten a lot of good recommendations for a girl there. Apparently she has a lot of experience with producing great haircuts despite hysterical children. And since this will be our first attempt at this, and I have no way of knowing how Lily will react, it sounds like a great plan to me!

On Friday morning we will be losing some length off of Lily's hair. I'm hoping that they can even it all up, maybe give her a little bob. Something cute and easy. Then we can try letting it grow again, cause right now she looks like a girl that stepped straight out of the Amazon!

Today is the big day for the zoo field trip at school. Mr. Animal Lover is very excited. It's been a while since we have visited the zoo. The big attraction for today is that the butterfly tent is open now, always a fun experience!

Tonight is also the last soccer game of the spring season, so Felix will have to take a nap when he gets home from school today! (Otherwise we will be major grumpy by the time soccer is over).
The last game is a big hot dog cookout and they give all the kids medals for playing this season. And so our Tuesday night committment will end. Of course Felix is already talking about playing again in the fall.
