Not much has been happening in the house the past few days. Mostly we have been trying to survive this transition between school being out and summer camp beginning. Felix has never handled idle time well. He bores easily and gets very moody. Doesn't sleep as well at night. He's just one of those kids that must have something to do at all times. To some extent I blame the fact that he was in childcare for three years. While I know it did a lot to help him develop concepts of friendship and sharing, it also meant always having a playmate (and let's face it, his 1 year old sister is not really his ideal playmate) and lots of different activities to choose from.
Thank goodness camp starts one week from today, and he is very excited. They really keep the kids busy with crafts, playground time, swimming, field trips, etc. He had a great summer last year, and I know he will again this year.
Lily's vocabulary has been errupting the past few weeks. One of her favorite words is "this". She walks thru the house saying "this", wanting you to label things for her so that she can learn what to call them. She has perfected the art of pointing out eyes (her favorite body part), ears, nose, mouth, hands, feet, and head. We spend a lot of our time reading books as it always seems she is thrusting a book in my face "book. read. book". And just as a little girl should, she has a think for shoes!!! Don't walk thru a shoe dept. with this child. If you do, she expects to buy a new pair of shoes, and she is NOT happy when you don't stop for trying them on.
Clara is doing great with cereal and babyfood from a spoon!! Like a regular little bird! She's still not rolling over. Sometimes, when she feels the need, she will go from her back to her side, but that is about all. She pushes up great when on her tummy, and is really starting to play with toys and interact with Felix and Lily. She loves their attention and is all smiles when they notice her! We have moved on to the walker and she will sometimes push herself backwards in it. Our days with the bouncy seat are numbered. She's not real big on being reclined anymore, but wants to be totally upright so she can look around.
So that's the update in this house! I gotta make it to the film shop to get 2 rolls of film developed, so hopefully I can have some photos to share soon from graduation, Lily's haircut, etc.

Oh, I wish we could meet & have the kids hang out together! I have Tyler here for the entire summer, but he NEVER gets bored! As long as he has his PS2 & his DVD's, he's one happy boy!! LOL!
We had such a fabulous but VERY busy weekend! I still need to get more pics of Jilli's baptism & the other adventures on my blog!
Thanks for a GREAT update, sweet lady!
