I can't believe it took me all week to post these pictures of the kids on their first days of school.
This first week back into a routine have been crazy busy. In the next few weeks it will only get busier as fall swim team, ballet, soccer and scouts all start before the end of the month. But we made it thru the hurdles of the first week and we are moving on to week two!

Felix is slowly falling in love with third grade. To say it's different would be an understatemnt. They are easing them into the routines, with only a spelling test this last week-- but it was twice the number of words that 2nd grade had. In the coming weeks they will move up to three tests per week and this year they will get actual number and letter grades instead of just checkmarks. Big changes!

The girls-- well, they couldn't be more thrilled! Lily has had her first "homework" assignment which was making a poster all about herself. She took to it with gusto and finished it in a small window of time this weekend. She's so excited about being a big kid-- and I sense the Sykes family determination in her... I personally can't believe this is her last year of "little school"!!!!
Clara has already had show and tell once. She took Dumbo and told her class of her love of elephants and how she sleeps with him every night and that he came from Aunt Chris and Uncle Jason all the way from "Japanda". She has one of the same teachers Lily had last year and is totally rocking their world. My girls are so different in personality it is hysterical.
All in all a successful start to a new and exciting year!
