Spring Break--Days 5, 6, 7: Gone to see Dad and Toebee

Day 5 we drove up to Dad and Toebee's for a visit. There's only about 70 miles between the two places, but it's about 2 hours in the car because there is really no direct way to get from point A to point B. The kids had a great time exploring Papaw's big yard, visiting the puppies in the puppy pens, riding the scooter and playing basketball with Papaw in the backyard. Of course I hadn't planned for the weather very well. It was suposed to be really warm all week, so I wasn't prepared with long sleeves for the cold mornings (thus the Morticia Adams "dress" on Lily--we had to borrow one of Toebee's shirts).

Sleeping here was a challenge. All three kids in one room, Clara getting moodier by the minute. Still not sure if that was all about teething or the ear infection she apparently had coming on. Needless to say there was a lot of crying at night, and Lily ended up in the bed with me both nights. For the record, she's not very good at sharing bed space!

Day 7 of our travels we head home. The drive was quite peaceful actually. The kids were all exhausted and fell asleep at different intervals, but for about 45 min. there was total silence in the Jeep. To me, that was a sure sign of a successful and fun week! Back home it was time to get ready for the excitement of Easter.
