Growing....

The past week has been a whirlwind. There have been some growing pains to go along with our new schedules, adjusting to getting everyone up early and fed and dressed and leaving the house long before we ever even thought about clothes last year. We've been trying out new exercise routines, dinner routines, and bedtime routines. The chore chart has gone up, the paperwork has started coming home from school and the fall schedule is starting to kick into high gear.

And, of course, the kids are growing! I measured Felix yesterday for the first time in quite a while. I knew he was getting taller, but I was shocked to see that he has reached 56 inches! my child is 4 ft 6 inches tall... and he's 5!!! I've come to face the reality that I will look up to him long before he enters highschool.

Clara has cut her second tooth, though she isn't slowing down any. She will chew on anything she can get into her mouth. Her gum line looks like a rolling hillside. It won't be long before more teeth errupt.

Lily informs me multiple times a day that she is a "beensis" (princess) and puts on her tiara. She's got quite an opinion about everything lately; including what she will wear. And the independent streak has begun. She now insists on putting her own shoes on, which just makes the morning routine even longer, but you dare not interrupt her. If you do then the whole thing has to start all over again, thus doubling the time spent on shoes.

That's the update here. I promise to try to get photos scanned soon!
