you know how sometimes you just suddenly realize things. you've known it was coming all along, but some days it just hits you like a ton of bricks...
last night my friend becca and i went out to get coffee at the starbucks up the road. it was after 9pm when we got there, so we opted for decaf and then sat out in the cool of the evening to finish drinking our joe after they closed. somewhere between then house and the coffee shop it occured to me that the summer is half over. july 1 is sunday! maybe it's left over from my teaching days, but july always seems like a long, slow sunday that just rolls downhill to a "new year".
with july 1:
paul begins year 3 of training
there will be 6 more weeks of summer fun before felix starts school
swimming lessons will be starting up shortly
registration for fall activities opens
the countdown to the holiday season begins (let's face it with everyone's birthdays, it starts in october with halloween and this house is non stop till after easter)
