It's a "No Day!" This is Clara's proclimation during the entire carpool drive today. She was so excited to see snow. The girls kept sitting in the backseat saying "it's on the trees", "it's on the ground", "it even snowed on Felix's school". It was totally amazing to them that it snowed everywhere and not just on our car. They crack me up!

As soon as we got home they were all out of the van to play in the snow. It only lasted a few minutes though before they were hungry (it was lunch time after all) and we had to come in.
Somewhere in that small amount of playtime Clara discovered one very important fact.... she doesn't like snow. It's cold, it's wet, and it doesn't make her happy. Oh, she is her Mama's child afterall...

Lucky for the others she fell asleep and took a nice long nap-- so we headed back outside to build a snowman.

Have you ever watched Alabama children build a snow man?
It's quite amusing...

They have no clue what they are doing... And they lose interest quickly... And I don't really know why they had the trashcan lids...
But in the end you basically end up with the world's shortest snowman... that's been on The Biggest Loser and lost 50% of his body fat.
So we put the garbage can lids to good use and resorted to sleding downhill on them...

Hey, we live in the south--- give us a break, we ain't got no sleds here!
Throw in a couple of snow angels to make sure our clothes are totally soaked...

Listen to the whine about how cold our hands and feet are-- again, we aren't equiped for the snow... and then head inside again.

And while I watch it come down and marvel at the beauty, I am reminded once again why I live in the South--- I don't like to be cold!
After nap time-- this one totally abandons me in my anti-cold campaign and decides she's IN LOVE with the snow!

And asks crazy questions like "Why can't it snow forever and ever and ever, Mama?" Silly kid, you don't know what you are asking!
Should have known she would stick with the brother and sister that are willing to push her down the snowy hill... Hey bit, who do you think taught them that trick with the lids??? Huh??

I can thank their Dad for teaching them this one... At least he did have the good sense to teach them about "edible" and "nonedible" snow.

The second attempt at a snowman went better. This one has been fed a little and hit a growth spurt.
Trust me kids, I know you had fun today--- but you don't want this every day. Really, you don't. Trust me, Mama knows best in this situation. Now--- let's go inside (again) because MY feet are cold and wet and you guys are making me shiver just looking at you :).
