The delay of Lily's surgery

It would have been nice of Lily to give us a little warning on this one. But no such luck. We arrived at the outpatient surgery clinic on Tuesday morning to discover that Lily had spiked a 102 degree fever. So, no surgery for her. We are rescheduled for April.

But... Wednesday finds us at the pediatrician's office. Clara's ear infection from the week before still not better (and still green goo draining from her ear) and Lily still running fever. Come to find out, not only was Clara's left ear still infected, but her right ear was also now infected. The child still had not run fever that would lead us to believe there was a problem. Lily, on the other hand, had... you guessed it: an ear infection!! Which explained her fever in preop on Tuesday. I tell you, these two are night and day in terms of how they react to ear infections!

So.. a change of antibiotics for Clara, and antibiotics for Lily and we are doing much better. Just some clear running noses to show for all the excitement of this last week.

Felix remains healthy, thankfully! He will be going to the school's big winter festival tomorrow with one of his classmates and he is so excited! They pick him up at 1:30 and he won't be back home till about 6:30, so he is sure to be one tired little man. (Personally, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that somewhere in that time frame I can convince both girls to nap!).
