I know, it's still a few days until New Years Eve, but for me closing out a year begins with the Christmas decorations being put away, a task I began today. It's one of those old "things" about my family--the tree just has to be down by New Years Eve. A tradition I've continued as an adult.I can't believe how fast this year has gone by, and how much has changed in 365 days. Our family has grown with Clara's birth (wow! she's almost one already!?!?!), we've moved on in the training cycle and as a result daddy has been home more, Lily has totally given up napping (this part is killing me!), Felix is in kindergarten and READING!! It just doesn't seem possible that he will be 6 in just a few months! Where does the time go?
As I am packing away the ornaments and trying to keep the kids from eating the last of the candy canes from the tree (or at least trying to keep them from eating them all in one sitting), I'll spend a lot of time reflecting on this year that is closing and the one that is coming. A blank slate and a chance to start over with new dreams...
P.S. This photo is from Christmas morning. Even with two people and 7 photos in a row, we still have not managed to get them to all look at the camera at the same time!
