Standing on our own

Wow!
It's been a while since I've made it over here... Paul was off for a week, and is on elective this month, so his schedule has been much abbreviated. It's been nice having Dad around more and the house has been moving on a less than normal schedule as a result. But, for the real reason why I haven't been posting lately... well, there isn't much time. Clara is lightning fast crawling these days and loves to rip apart anything she finds. She has killed one floor lamp already, and destroyed countless magazines and catalogs. Her favorite trick, however, is to climb up on the fireplace and stand up to shake the doors. NOT GOOD!
Her big feat for this weekend is to be able to support herself in a standing position. While playing she will pull up, let go and stand without wobbling for about 30 seconds. A big step. I'm sure the insanity will only increase as she takes her first steps. For once I find myself wishing I had kids that walked later rather than sooner!
Also, the photo below is our new neice: Savannah Marie was born Oct. 19th and weighed in at 8 lbs. 12 oz and 21 inches. I'm told she has a head full of dark curly hair, but I have not yet received that photo. Congrats to John and Kristin and big brother Noah! We love you all!
